History
Given very little in the way of goods from her family and what little gifts she received from friends and others of the tribe. There were those that were envious that she of all people had received such an ambitious request from the gods, being a weak member of the tribe that wasn’t able to contribute much in her life thus far. The rations, belongings and coin she did have to her name got her to the Ruby Sea where met an old Hyur fisherman, a refugee of Eorzea that lived near the borders to the Steppe. Having heard of her pilgrimage (She was incredibly open with him) he agreed to let the weary traveler work for him for a time so that she’d be able to make to pay the Ruby Tithe and make her way to Kugane. The man had taught her the basics of the Eorzean Language during her stay so that she might be better prepared for the world ahead of her. A month or two passed and she had finally the coin to her name to purchase a ferry across the Ruby Sea and she bid the man farewell.
It was however once she arrived in Kugane that she found herself overwhelmed by the explosion of the senses. All the vibrant colors, sights, sounds and smells. So many different things in one place, she was intoxicated by the city. Though she had pennies to her name she had big aspirations to indulge herself in as much of the culture here as possible. Her journey in Kugane began with attempting to find work once more to garner the funds to continue her pilgrimage. After being thrown out and outright ignored by many businesses due to her strong language barrier and general negativity towards Xaela she was at a loss. It wasn’t long that she found herself out of coin and food, living on the streets and begging for scraps of anything she could get, all the while praying for aid. It was then that she was finally found and offered a job by the proprietor of a bathhouse in a darker corner of the city. He offered her food, shelter, and coin to be in his employ. Without a second thought she accepted the Roegadyn’s gracious offer and found herself with a tiny room to herself living beside other women, a dormitory of sorts. She began her work learning how to clean the baths and take care of the place. One day however the proprietor got a request from one of the clients about her and she found herself getting offered a promotion. Unknowingly of what it entailed she accepted due to the offer of more coin and high hopes to be able to continue her journey sooner! However little did she know that she had agreed to be a “rare exotic catch” at a brothel. She soon found herself unable to argue or take back her decision due to having signed a contract for her services to the brothel in exchange for a large sum of coin. Thus she lived in despair being taken advantage of by the rogues gambit of clients for the next few months…
However terrible the Roegadyn proprietor may have been, he was true to his word. She was released from his employ after such time that she repaid her “debts” to him and earned enough to be able to purchase a one way trip to Limsa Lominsa via a trade vessel. Having arrived in a new land she did her best to ignore the past few months of her life and the trauma it did to her. But to her dismay she found herself terrified of even passing by any traveler within the city, barely able to speak up despite having grown more fluent in Eorzean during her time in Kugane. She eventually was able to find herself a semi-permanent room with a lalafellian farmer family. She spends her time there working in the orange fields and helping around the house.
